''I'm certainly good at multi-tasking ...''
Hang on ! are you one of them who talk while driving?
Research shows that multitasking isn't just inefficient, it's stressful ...
Doing many things at once is a trick we often play on ourselves, thinking we're getting more things done. In reality, our productivity goes down as much as 40%. In fact, we are not actually multitasking but switch-task, rapidly shifting from one thing to another, interrupting ourselves unproductively, and time is wasted during the process. In other words, in contrast to almost everything else, the more you multitask, the less productivity u are.
You will tend to have tremendous patience for things you felt were useful and enjoyable.
Try listening to what your partner says and understand (Not just listening while playing with ur iphone.) Nothing else was competing for your attention and everything seems to fall in the right place. ;)
There is no doubts that our minds move considerably faster than the external world. You can hear far more thoughts a minute than someone else could speak. We just have so much to do, so ..why waste any time? Maybe we could use extra brain cells to order a cup of coffee while we're on the phone? That's also explain that it is simply impossible to resist a little multitasking.
